2013 Bee Day at Wayne McCoy's in Williamsburg, WV

Every year, the McCoy family hosts a bee day in Williamsburg, and graciously provide instruction, exposure and snacks!  We were graced with lovely weather, and Wayne's bees were particularly well behaved that day.

The State Beekeeper was there to answer questions and give advice.

September 2013 Meeting and Potluck Picnic

The September 2013 meeting was held at Charlie Mackey Park instead of the Osteopathic School to accommodate our potluck picnic!  Funny stories, new friends, good food and great prizes made for an educational and eventful evening amongst friends.

First Annual Honey Festival in Lewisburg, WV

The first annual honey festival in Lewisburg, WV held in conjunction with the Farmer's Market in the parking lot of Lewisburg United Methodist Church was a huge success.  Several vendors shared their wax creations, honey tasting from around West Virginia (and the world!), and a fabulous demonstration with the exhibition hive by Mary Holesapple.  Several little pollinators and flowers flittered about the crowd, bringing smiles and information to the masses.  Thank you all for making it such a huge success!

SWARM CAPTURE -- Sara Mullett and Troy Holbrook

Sara and Troy captured a swarm outside Sara's house.  She also captured a video of the event.  Sara is a first-year beekeeper, and has already experienced a full spectrum of bee care!  Congratulations!
